This bite size appetizer is the perfect example of how easy a delicious shareable can be.

Figs have a sweet flavor, soft and chewy texture with numerous crunchy edible seeds. Being very delicate and perishable, most figs are consumbed once preserved or dried. High in soluable fiber, potassium, calcium, iron and magnesium, figs can be a great addition to a healthy diet. When shopping, select figs that are plump and tender with rich color. Don't wash your fresh figs until you are ready to eat. Consumed peeled or unpeeled depending on your preference. Similar to prunes, figs contain high levels of oxalates and when eaten in exessive amounts may produce a laxative effect.
