Brie is a mild and creamy cheese, which also makes it the perfect base for the best sweets – sugar, honey, fruits, you name it. Its richness is complemented by the cherries tartness. Although rich and sweet like a dessert, enjoy this appetizer any time of day.


Baked Cherry and Walnut Brie, 1 brie
1 brie round (8 oz.), at room temperature
1/2 cup frozen cherries
1/4 cup honey
1/2 tsp. balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place brie in a rimmed baking dish (or cast iron skillet). Cut off the top fo the brie for easier eating and sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake for 8-12 minutes or until fruit is bubbling and cheese is gooey.

In a small bowl, mix together honey and balsamic vinegar. Heat in microwave for one minute. Toss in cherries. Once brie is heated through, remove from oven and top with cherry mixture and a sprinkle with walnuts.

Serve brie with crostinis or crackers of chioce.
