A popular food trend of 2016 - an acai bowl. This bowl is packed with protein, tasty superfoods and wholesome ingredients that will make it easy for you and your family to fall back into a routine.

Acai berries come from the Amazon rainforest, and are reputed to be a powerful antioxidant. The feature antioxidant-packed acai berry puree lends a rich, dark chocolate flavor to the bowls. Acai bowls look and almost taste like ice cream, but they are packed full of powerful nutrition. These bowls make a filling breakfast or snack that you can feel good about eating.

Customize how you want by topping with any item of your choice (see suggestions below).

Acai Bowls, 1 serving
2 packets of frozen acai puree (found in our frozen department)
½ cup mixed frozen berries
½ cup spinach
½ avocado
1 frozen banana
2 Tbsp. milk of choice

Optional toppings: fresh fruit, granola, nuts, chia seeds, ground flax seeds, coconut flakes, chocolate chips, etc.

Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth, adding more or less milk to achieve desired thickness. Top with toppings of choice.

Don't like acai berries? Simply make a smoothie bowl from your favorite smoothie recipe. Blend, pour into a bowl, top with your favorite toppings and enjoy with a spoon. Just be sure your smoothie has a good balanced of protein, carbohydrates and fats to pack you full of proper nutrition to complete your meal.

Carbohydrate: fruit, milk, granola, etc.
Protein: nuts, nut butters, pasteurized egg, Greek yogurt, etc.
Fat: avocado, nuts, nut butters

And always try to add in that handful of greens for a serving of veggies.
